Jazz Hands, well Jazzercise...

I have signed up for Jazzercise again. It has been too long, so I will be doing a one hour class 2-4 x's per week. It is fun, and it makes me use muscles that I haven't used in a long time. Like in my core, and my arms.

This will help my running too...and besides cardio is good! So is strength training. It all makes me feel happy! And, it is nice to connect with friends that I met way back when my third was only a year old.

Two runs in two days

Last night I was running with my marathon clinic, and we ran:
10.20 km
56 minutes
Avg pace: 5:30 km
Max pace: 3:43 km

This morning I ran:
8:57 km
51.17 minutes
Avg pace: 5:59 km
Max pace: 4:05 km

I am hoping to get one more 8 km run in tomorrow morning as I will be missing my long run (16 km) on Sunday morning. I NEVER hardly EVER miss a run. Well, this Sunday I have a great excuse. My sister is getting married on Saturday, and I am her Matron of Honour. I have my duties to do, and I cannot wait. Sunday I will be enjoying a Sunday brunch with the newly married couple, family and friends.

I am hoping I will run a bit extra during the week next week. Maybe Monday, for sure Tuesday, Wed and maybe Friday. And of course my long run on NEXT Sunday.

Wednesday straight run...

I just got back from an 8.65K straight run. (well one short walk break after a straight 3K uphill!)

I ran with my running buddy Kevin. He is going to run the half marathon with me on June 22nd. He will put me through my paces that is for sure. Today was certainly challenging, but I love a good challenge.

I am going to start running some straight runs of about 5K on extra days, and will also be doing a 10K straight run. Oh, and bumping a long Sunday run of 20K!!!! Yikes!

I also got my beautiful bike back! I now need to get a helmet and cycle/tri shorts and I am good to cycle! I am not sure if I even know how to ride my bike and switch my gears?! Oh well, I think it should be like 'riding a bike' right!??! I sure hope so.

So, yes. Half marathon in just over one month! My first really BIG challenge for me! Cannot WAIT!

Monday - Night before Weigh In

Tonight, we headed back to the community centre. I did a great circuit of weights, both upper and lower. 3 sets of 12-15 reps. I am working on strength. I want to build up my back and arms and legs. I also did a couple of reps of stomach lifts where you bring your knees up to the chest! Wow. Where did my abs go? They left me LOL! But, I can certainly FEEL that they are still there. Why? because they hurt now!

I then got in the pool. And I swam my laps. Did about 20 mins of swimming, and did 20 lengths, or laps? (Help me DAD!!) Whatever I did it totalled over the 400 metres I need for the triathlon in June. The 8 lengths/16 laps? took me under 15 minutes. I am so excited!

I have had some great workouts this past week! And I just feel so good about my weigh in tomorrow! I feel that I have lost some more. Time for a photo soon!

Until tomorrow then!

Weights and Swim

Tonight Cliff and I headed after the kids went to bed to the local cc to go for a workout. We did weights for about 20 mins, and then we swam. I swam about 18 laps. (25 m pool) I am officially 'in training!' I swam for approx. 25 mins straight.

And a few seconds in the hot tub to relax and stretch out!
